because i am still very much held a prisoner to past beliefs and practice, i dress in suit and tie and bring a briefcase on my frequent dates.. i talk business during the entire happy meal (macdonalds), displaying ad brochures and spreadsheets relative to whatever business plan i happen to be hawking that day.
i count the venture as a business expense and jws who frequent this fine diner know i am not on a date.
there are no smirks, no snickering, no knowing glances.

When I was at Bethel, late-'60s, early-'70s, bell bottom and flare trousers were strictly prohibited. Brother Knorr said that if you, brothers, are going to wear them, wear them in your room.
Very liberal . . .

Thank you, smiddy, steve2, and Lostandfound, for seeing the intended humor here.
smiddy: I will try Hungry Jacks and rent The Founder from Netflix. Good advice! I worry, however, that a peck on the cheek might land me in a bushel of sorrow!
steve: I am mute; well, here anyway . . .
Lostandfound: I do appreciate the ref to Walter! Kudos on your above average hours for non-dates. I impress easily, and that's saying something!
Best Wishes, all.

Thanks, again, LV101:
Of course, there must remain some mystery; a few close friends know the real me, but I've learned I don't owe anyone a detailed explanation regarding all the affairs of the heart. Insofar as what others think, a friend once told me that we wouldn't worry so much about what others think of us if we realized how little they do . . .
Well, that point is moot, and I shall be mute (on some matters!) . . .
Blessings and peace.

Thank you, millie210, but you are too kind.
I live in a funny, strange world where the border between reality and fantasy bleeds and blends, one into the other.
Always nice hearing from you!

The basic premise is true, the details are a wee bit exaggerated!
Essentially, I was living in two worlds and had to step out of one, into the other, and vice versa. Now, I come and go as I please and whoever is my friend is my friend. Nothing to hide, nor do I care to.
Best Wishes.

It's been a few years since I've "studied" THE WATCHTOWER. Some information I had been wondering about is here, nicely set out and easy to read. Good comments, too.
my boy is going to play for watford football club!
and whilst i didn't take his revelation to seriously, i am was glad his " goal" isn't to pioneer.
:-).
KUDOS!

Thanks, NY44 and Bobcat, for your replies.
The above is based on fact, when I was asked out on dates. I did bring along a briefcase. As much as possible, I said "no" to dinner dates that took place in a restaurant.
Our restaurants are always loaded with JWs and they knew I could not remarry (per their rules).
Since I can finally laugh over love lost, this thread is meant to be in the humor category.
